Never mind, I think we're going to level the ground first.

We started digging to remove the slope, I'm pleased with all we've accomplished in just one day!

We need your help, again: is it best if the two parallel pools (plants and fish) share the middle wall, or should we build each pool its own wall?

sharing a wall is no problem the only disadvantage might be maintenance not being able to get in-between them. If they are spaced apart it can be a great place for plantings.

You had also asked about the footings/ bond beam. a bond beam in new England is going to shift. with the feezing and thawing from winter unless like rob said you have your footings below grade at least 24" and where your ground slopes your footing should as well keeping the 24" below grade through out. here's a little visual of a steped foundation there are a couple others on my pond build blog.

I had a horrible time leveling, my pond is on such a slope!

But the pups are enjoying the ditch!

The leveling is done, but now construction's on hold due to the extreme heat!... can't do cement work in 90s degree weather.
We need rain!!!!! Anyone knows the "rain dance"?

The crushed concrete is in place, but we're still in the 90s, so no cement work this week either!
Will we ever be done with this pond?

Well the work you have gotten done looks nice and tidy @Gemma
So I take it hot is bad for cement but too much rain would be too right? What is it you need 72 w/a slight mist in the air, lol?
