Hey guys,
I need to go into town today, was thinking of getting some plants for pond. Specificaly, hornwort and anachris from lfs.
Good idea? Bad? My pond temp is currently around 45f near the surface. I live in desert, so short cold winter, long hot summer.
Pond is roughly 2000 to 2500 gallons, 3 feet deep in middle. Pond is below ground. Fish are 3 shubunkin 3 or 4 inches, 2 Chinese hi fin 3 inches, 2 koi smaller than shubies, 10 channel cats about 2 inches long. Also have who knows how many ghost shrimp, lol.
Catfish will be eaten at around 1 or 2 lbs, but will save 1 male and female for breeding.

Sorry
Just realized question is somewhat vague. I'm worried about taking plants from lfs (warm water) and putting them in cold water(45f). Is this a bad idea or will they survive?

My anachris and hornwort both seem to decrease in size in the winter, just small bits here and there. Water temp 40's, then it explodes in the spring.
