Hi all,

I bought a new pond and set it up yesterday. I made a huge mistake in not washing the rocks I placed inside and now my water is a murky white colour. I need help!
If anyone could please let me know the best way to fix this, I would really appreciate it. I would like to put some goldfish into the pond but want to ensure the dust from the rocks won’t cause them any harm!

Photos attached for reference.

Kindest regards,
Brooke

Brooke, it may just need a day or two to settle. Often when rocks are placed into a pond they inevitably have residue on them. Yes, ideally a good washing is in order but patience should hopefully resolve your issue.

Brooke,
Go at it slow and with patience, no sooner than you get rid of the white cloudiness from the rocks, your going to get
some green water from algae bloom, continue to be patient and give the pond time to mature.
The use of chemicals for a quick fix to clear water is discouraged, give nature time to work it's magic.

Hi everyone!
Thank you for the warm welcome and advice :)
The pond has settled down quite a lot more today already!
Glad to know it’s not a huge issue.

Brooke

How many gallons is that brookealexander? I’m wondering if you might consider smaller fish rather than goldfish. They get quite large.
