So my question here is water lilies. I bought some 3per box at Home Depot and they came with strings to attach which float a fake flower. Basically I assume are markers for where I put the plant beneath the water. I have sprung some lily pads but how soon can I expect to see the beautiful flowers bloom?

Also I did plant some impatience 2days ago. I read that especially the pink ones do great just below the water line. Sooo I rinsed the dirt off the roots and put them in plant baskets filled with pea gravel and they are doing wonderful! Did the same with cannas and iris and all is well NOW LET THE BLOOMING AND COLOR BEGIN!!

I don't know how long it will take for blooms on your lilies. Having the pads show up is a good sign, though!

Give them time they will send up buds, look down at the stalk you can usually see tiny buds coming out.

all depends on the heat, sun, and nutrients available
