Hi everyone! I am looking into making a lid for my upcoming container pond to keep pests out. My question is, what should I use for the lid's frame? I was going to use hardware cloth to repel larger animals, and window screen to hinder predatory insects from entering (in the event I try to keep fish in this container pond). Thank you :)

Can't help on that I only use wide weave netting just to keep the herons out. I don't worry about anything else.

I was worried more about raccoons and neighborhood cats...would the netting stop them?

For them deer fencing or hardware cloth would work just fine. The hardware cloth will rust over time.
