This cute lil wren is crazy

There are 20 plus bird houses nicely built and hung around the yard.

He / she decided this milk crate with a piece of bubble wrap was a perfect place to nest.

3 feet from the door we use all of the time, shoes, construction stuff next to garage door.

Nest had 3 eggs a day ago now 4 eggs. Will be fun watching them grow

Wrens are crazy. We had 2 bird houses under our deck and the bird kept building its nest on a ladder that was hung on the wall! I wouldn't let my husband use the ladder until the little guys had flown the coop. 3 years of not being able to use the ladder.

I told hubby that crate was off limits until they flew away.

Very cool, we have a pair that nest right outside the sliding glass door also, but ours did decide to use the nest I provided them over the winter. What I thought was intresting was how different the ones look that you took pics of, Ours are a brighter brown and more white. Same body shape, and stance, face looks the same and the tail stands up the same but color is far different than the ones you have there.

Sorry I mislead you a little, that is a net picture of a wren, the little sucker has been too fast to catch a picture of it. Ours look like this.

Ahhhh, I was wondering how you got a pic of it and it appeared to be on a hand. LOL Our's look closer the the illustrated pic but still a little bright brown. I have yet to get a decent pic of either one either. First hummingbird of the season arrived this week, and I also have a two pairs of mocking birds building nests in the crepe myrtles. Oh and Addy, First water lily bloomed this morning along with the pomegranate and iris's.

OK- wrens are not so bad but just chased a red tailed hawk off the post that holds the net over my large pond! Pretty sure it's the same one I saw in my front yard yesterday and then found a tear in the screen over my sale tank with 5 large white koi. Someone is looking for an easy meal!

How neat! fishin....... love the critters and the plants..... My lilies are just starting to grow, sending up lots of leaves.

Mrsclem, I have seen redtails in the air above our house and bald eagles, but none in yard. We do have those other smaller hawks that like bird feeders lol.

Around here it is christmas every day, never what is going to pop up out of the ground. Been planting bulbs, plants etc that I pick up on sale, everywhere in the yard. lol

That red tulip is so intense in color, the flower is the size of my hand, need to look to see where I got it and what it is called lol. At least I save all of the stuff in a folder.

pretty pics there Addy, Wish that the tulips and such did better down here. Only way to grow them here is dig them back up and store in the refrig. after they bloom, just to much hassel to do every year. I love them and would love to have a bed of nothing but different color tulips but the heat here is just not good for them at all.
What is the purple bunch of flowers? Fressia (sp) I like them what ever they are!

Addy-
I can't believe you still have tulips blooming with the deer you have. As soon as my leaves came up the deer had them. No crocuses this year as well and I blame the squirrels for that. My daylilies have all been chewed down to the ground as well. Starting to hate the wildlife around here.

The only thing I have seen happening are rabbit nibbles. some of the leaves chewed on, the day lilies are just coming up and not bothered at all. Maybe I give them to much other food to eat.

There was a thread in here, I think fishin, that made a concoction that kept rabbits, deer from eating the plants. I have not tried it, was waiting to see what happened. So far so good lol

Even have tulips out in the front yard where I know deer walk through, they have left them alone.

Maybe it is my attack yorkie, she scares them lmao, even though she is never outside without me.
