Good morning everyone!

Have any of you heard of adding fish food to cycling tanks? I read somewhere that it's a big bacteria boost when starting up a new tank.

I cycled my pond with Dr Tim’s Ammonia Chloride for fishless cycles and what I’d recommend. I set up another small pond recently and just kept a couple bags of filter media stuck down in my bog for a week to seed it. I’d avoid the raw shrimp, fish food, human waste methods as you risk a very unbalanced system that may give plenty of headaches and just set you back. In the past I’ve also just added a few gold fish to ponds to cycle it and never had any issues.
