Aww mr Heron! Beautiful bird.................BUT!

BTW now that it has found your pond it will be back.
I had them coming daily for around a year, as I figured out what would stop them.

I did read where the Heron and White Egrets were after one guys pond and he used fire works to scare them off he said it worked pretty quickly as they learned the price was probably more then they wanted to pay.

I would appreciate knowing how to deter those birds myself! I love in Florida. We have lost one fish to him already. I covered the pond with nettingnetting. Hopefully it's enough, but that Great White Egret is on my lawn almost every day.

They also have a bird scare gun . looks like a toy but when you shoot it it screams and pops but does not harm anything .Just scares the daylights out of birds .Have a friend who has a phobia of birds and it works great for her

A net is my fishes saving grace and a net only! Otherwise that bird would have cleared every fish outta there. He still comes once in a great while and one day he tried to put his feet on the net and climb it! He gave up and left frustrated I believe!

I used to love seeing herons, and I still can sometimes appreciate their beauty...in nature. But boy does context matter with those killing machines.

i have a Heron net, but hate the look, this year, I'm going to try the fishing line trick they use at the beach/shore to deter seagulls at outdoor eating establishments.
