Will pickerelweed bloom longer or more if you cut off the spent blossoms? Do you leave them to form seeds? (Thanks @addy1 for saying the seeds are edible!)
Do you cut the spent blossoms off the waterlilies that you can reach? I have resident frogs and visiting birds but not fish.

I do deadhead the pickerel rush, but mostly because it seems the stalks sort of flop over once they've finished blooming & I don't like them falling in the pond. Not sure if it helps them bloom longer, because even when I get a bit lazy with this chore mine just keep on blooming all summer. I also wallow around in the pond once a week or so to trim off fading lily pads & flowers. I fertilize them every other week, so while I'm in there doing that it's pretty easy to neaten things up a bit.

yes, back in 2012. There’s been a lot of water through the bio filter since then! Cooked only, dangerous raw.
