Deviding Iris

There are 4 in this pot. If I remove 3 will they grow in dirt?

Iris or canna? look like canna and if they are , yes they will grow in soil.

I also think those are canna lilies. They will be fine all in the same pot, but if you want to divide them, that's fine, too. They tend to grow in clusters like that and will keep sending up new shoots over time. Honestly, I wouldn't separate them unless you want to put some elsewhere.
