I have built( sweated ached lol) an 8000 gal pond with a bog that is 15% the surface area of pond. The pea gravel was washed but still kind of dirty still. It has made water pretty dirty. Will it settle out or do I need to do something different. By the way my pump after considering the head reduction should be around 5000 gph going to bog

It will clear. Mine did within 24 hours. Although you have alot of pump flow so it may keep things agitated for a while. If it doesn't clear, turn of the pump for a bet and let it settle.

Same here... I washed down all my gravel before putting it in the pond, and the pond was still a milky mess for awhile. I think it took closer to a week for mine to really clear up, but it was definitely a lot better just after the first day.

I put a bog in, in May. I washed my pea gravel too but it was so bad there was a time when I couldn't see two inches down to the top of a pot. Took about 5 days before I started seeing a minor improvement, and a week or two longer before it was reasonably clear. After that, there was silt on all the shelves, but that disappeared too. For a while I was worried it would be a never ending issue, but now its crystal clear, and no sign of silt.

We didn't wash ours at all, there was too much of it, it did settle, can not recall how long it took, not forever lol
38000 lbs way too much to wash with well water during a very dry summer.
