Finally filled my pond... 7 years of work. Did all the work myself.

Comments questions appreciated.. I am new to ponds. Never even had fish before.

Cement with black Pond Armor. Poured cement molds for all of the capstones and fountain topper. Made Bacchus spitter with an ABS mold from ebay.

External sequence 3500 gph running on 220v, supplies the filters and the 1" spitter... and I have a 250 gph submersible pump for the bell fountains.

Thanks for looking...

Rhoadsclan,

Very nice work. I'm in Sacramento as well, good to see you here. I live in the South Hills area of south Sacramento. I'm working on my first pond.

Follow up from last year I added a bog....

Water is not so clear. Well the chemistry test good, just lots of plankton algae. I decided to move forward on Phase 2. "The bog".

Added 10 sqft of bog filter (phase 3 will add 10 more on the other side) picture below

beveled rim on bog will have flagstone caps. Built of cement brick and mortar on recycled 4 inch slab. Used slab was leveled in thick bed of mortar. filled in gaps with new cement and coated with several coats of drylock.

That bog looks really nice there and I agree another one on the other side would look cool too and give you double cleaning power!
