Fall is my favorite time of the year πŸ‚πŸπŸŽƒπŸ πŸ‚ Just curious to see what is going on with fall color where you are. Here in Louisiana, we don’t usually see the leaves change significantly until (maybe) mid-November. Right now, things are still green (but the weather is feeling fall-ish πŸƒ).

I'm in MA. We just went through a very dry thirty days, no rain. So the leaves turned a little early. The Boston Globe always keeps a foliage tracker. This year foliage is turning a little early. Northern New England is peak last week of Sept to beginning of October, MA is early to mid Oct and Southern New England mid to late Oct. There is definitely pockets of color around, earlier than usual. The large maple above my pond has not turned completely yet. We will probably do our annual apple picking next weekend.

All is pretty green here still! Trees are starting to lose some leaves tho. Covered my frog pond somewhat w/screen and netting to catch them and will take it off when all the leaves have fallen. The netting and screen is lifted up a few inches to allow small birds etc. to still get some water.

Slight changes in color here, the greens are starting to fade a bit toward yellow, but not really much of anything just yet. Peak is about a month away.

Our colors are changing early this year in SW Ohio, possibly due to the drought we've had. The remnants of Hurricane Helene, seems to have rectified the drought rather intensely !

Here is a picture from my yard of the mountains off in the distance. They started turning colors a couple of weeks ago. 15 or so years ago, that was all/mostly ponderosa pine forest on the side of the mountain. Got burned off in our first big forest fire (2010 or 2011?, the Schultz Fire). Since then, two other major fires have burned in the same general area (along with the resulting floods).

Just beyond the first white fence is a 20 foot wide concrete canal ditch the county put in for the flood litigation from the fires. I did not want that going thru my property, but was threatened with imminent domain process. I have some property on the other side of the canal that I can not get access to (county would not provide me with access to it, other than going up on the road, and into my neighbors property). I'm still a little upset about that, but..... Enough ranting. Sorry about that.

Sadly, still no changes here in NW Louisiana. Leaves are falling, little by little, but I think those are mostly already dead leaves that are being helped by the autumn breezes. We are seeing some fall-ish weather changes, which is a WONDERFUL break from heat and humidity. This nicer weather is bringing the box turtles out more, and I enjoy visiting with them. In another month (if that long), they will enter brumation, and I won’t see them again until Spring.
