Hello everyone! My pond is doing amazing.
The fish seem to love the duckweed as extra cover and are coming out more.
My question is: I have noticed alge growing on the sides- is this okay?
Also I have betta food flakes with shrimp/ bloodworms and the fish seem to go nuts for it- is that okay to feed?
I only feed once a day which has helped with the water quality. What do you guys think?
Any tips or suggestions would be amazing :)

algae is a good thing

Glad the fish are settling into their new home. Good job on the plants, it not only helps the fish feel more comfortable but it helps the water quality as well.

As far as feeding betta food it won't hurt as a treat but you should feed something formulated for goldfish for their normal diet.

Alice one thing you have to remember about algae.
Thoughout is in daylight algae produce oxygen however at night they do the opposite and produce Co2 so remember keep your filtration running night and day .

A bit of algae growing on the sides is pretty normal - it when you get large strings of algae in the water you need to worry. As you get more fish, the more filtration and UV radiation you need to combat this.
