Did not know they could eat a worm but makes sense since they eat baby fish.

Here's a lucky shot! Catching them in flight is really a matter of a lot of wasted shots. They are such incredible fliers, fast and often moving with random direction changes.

That is an outstanding shot! Look closely at the very tip of his abdomen. See how it’s shredded a bit? That denotes a recently mated male. Beautiful capture, @Stephen T.! Here’s a similar example posted years ago of the same species, I believe:

We have zero mosquitoes here, I think they help in the removal of them.

I found 3 dead dragonfly tangled up in the pond netting, another reason why I like the hard mesh better!

I found 3 dead dragonfly tangled up in the pond netting, another reason why I like the hard mesh better!
That and the birds, frogs etc is why I use the wide weave netting. It stops nothing but the heron.
