Just got home from work to find 'our' Mallards are back on the pond. Last year they produced 9 ducklings. Earlier this year their batch of eggs ended up on the bottom of the pond. Hopefully they will produce another clutch and rear them on the pond. I've just placed new nesting material in the duckhouse in preparation!

How cute stroppy!

Right after i moved out of arizona, my renter told me there was a nest of eggs. She left them alone and ended up with 17 lil ducklings wandering around the stream and pond. Of course they waited until I was not living there.

Just been down to the pond and it seems the guys are getting used to their new home. Not sure if they will lay their egs in the duckhouse, but at least any chicks will have a safe haven. Time will tell.
