Hi all,
I have a Blagdon upright pond with 8 goldfish. Fish are healthy and well. However this year due to the warm sunny weather we’ve had early I have loads of weed growing in the pond.
The issue is I don’t know what kind of weed it is to buy a treatment. It grows really quickly and I have to keep on top of it as it will take over if I leave it.
I have attached a photo. Sorry if it’s not clear but hoping someone can help. The pond does get a lot of sun but I have no way to shade it.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Best

Lots of string algae. Just take a clean toilet brush and wrap around the stuff and drag it out. I've heard hydrogen peroxide works but I've never had to use it.

String algae, and it’s fairly normal. Do what @j.w said to manually remove it. Don’t try to “poison” it! That happens when there are excess nutrients in the water, so be sure you’re not overfeeding, and that your biological filtration is adequate for your fish load. If adding plants is an option, they will compete with the algae for those excess nutrients.
