Trying out New Guinea Impatience, Miniature King Tut Papyrus, Hosta, and Creeping Jenny. They all have their feet in the water, no soil. Been in about two weeks, so far so good

Keep an eye on the hosta.I put one in my bog 3 years ago and I have not been able to remove it! Huge root system. Coleus also do well and have a wide variety of color and texture

Where I have them is in the rocks in my waterfall, so they just have a trickle of water running underneath them. So I think if they try to spread with no soil they will run out of the water. Either way one of my biggest chores each spring is thinning everything out…… plants love that fishey water… LoL
