Since my pond being above ground, due to that we rent and don't want to have to refill in pond when we leave. I have decided to cover the outer portion of pond with a faux rock wall. It will have 3 sections. 12x3 one side 6x3 other side and 1x6 to cover filter set up. I will be using 1 1/2 inch thick insulating styrofoam. And dryloc to make it water resistance and paint it.

Here is the first piece 1x6 drawing the outline of the rocks.

Thanks, This is basically pressed styrofoam. It's in the insulation dept of homedepot lowes. I have used it on my vivariums and works really good

dryloc paint is the same kind you use on basement walls to keep moisture from coming through the walls .It is very thick and boy does it stink .I got a commercial grade of it for my basement walls ,I figure if I put all that money into the outside of my walls why not do it on the inside .

Using dryloc with some acrylic paint mixed in to give it color. It is pretty thick but u add just a lil bit of water to thin it out, and ya it does have a smell to it. I just used a knife I stole from the kitchen, don't tell the wife.

My late hubby collected nice kitchen knives.....he did not like me using them. Now I use them for everything, even dividing lilies!
