So I am away from the pond this week, housesitting for my Aunt and Uncle in the city, and I took the time to start shopping and put together a pond first-aid/quarantine kit. I went to Petsmart and found several varieties of fungal, bacterial, and ich treatments. I'm wondering what everyone's favorite brands are. I bought some API Melafix and Pimafix because I've heard good things about it, but was also tempted to buy a Tetra Pond all-in-one treatment solution, that said it treated parasites, bacteria, fungus, and ich all at the same time. This made me wonder what brands everyone used, or if you guys prefer some form of natural solutions like aloe leaves. So who uses what? :D

Melafix and Prinix you can forget Zman weve tried them and dont rate them much as a treatment though they are the new generation of non chemical treatmnts .
You simply cant beat the older chemical treatments
For ulcers however if it ver comes to the US buy Koi Clear Gel an ozonated vegitable mix it has astounding results :-

Its based around an ozonated humn Jaapanese treatment the only draw back with it is it has to live in your fridge when not in use two aplications and the ulcer is gone.
We used it on one of our showas when mistakes got made during the swop over from indoor to outdoor koi keeping it acctually cleared it ione, it also works on cuts and abrasions both koi and human wiise I tried it out on me
