I have ice, no where as thick as last year, but the pond is covered with ice except where the small pump is running.

Snow also helps farmers fields .It has been so wet here I am wondering how farmers are going to get seeding done .There field cover crops did not do well this winter and lots of erosion in the fields here .Good fertile fields may be gone .

Wow, what a difference from last year for you.
Is the lack of snowfall a concern for your area's water supply?
Snowmelt here is our area's water supply for the summer.

It is a concern, the water supply is down. Nothing to bad yet. We did get a 1" of rain yesterday so that helped. We have been fairly wet just not snow. Looks like a snow storm tonight and then Monday into Tuesday. Looks like a 30 degree change. Here it is today completely free of ice.

The opening is getting larger with the constant slow flow pump running. I have it in the shallow end, the deep end has the breather. OW it would still be covered with ice.

ours runs into streams and farm pond and the Chesapeake Bay foundation is making farmers put up silt barriers because the bay was getting polluted .Even had that problem with Smith Mountain Lake and Basset lake
