Fertilizing new Lilly

If i put a fertilizer in the pot will it be safe for the fish?

I use osmocote under the litter

I have used it for about 8 years now, 1/4 cup in each lily, about 15 or so lilies, every fall or spring depending on my mood. Never had a fish kill or excess algae.

No worries @420benz - we all use some kind of fertilizer in lilies. No harm to fish.
