First frog

My pond is about 3-4 months old now. Had our first toad a couple of weeks ago and yesterday, our first frog.

I like this fellow

Nice. My wife made fun of me when I told her that I was excited that a frog finally found its way to my rehabbed pond. It's the little things.

Looks like a Leopard Frog to me.

He's in the UK so they might have different frogs there.

Gee, I looked up UK frogs and there really is one called "common frog." Not that I doubted you, but it sounded more like a descriptive name rather than a real name. Common frog (Rana temporaria).

Yep, that's a Common Frog.

It reminds me of the Wood Frogs we have here in the US.

Ha. Yes. Typically British.

We also have a common toad in the pond.

@James_Pond Our frogs & toads peaked a couple of months ago, though I do have some fairly new tadpoles in the pond. I didn't see the eggs, so I don't know if they're frogs or toads yet. That's part of the fun is waiting to see what hops [or leaps] out of the pond. So far it's been Fowler's Toads. Maybe these tads will be frogs

Congrats on your frog. My wife could care less about the fish but loves it when we have frogs. I'm guessing the British named the frog before they started exploring the world looking for new species so it was given a simple name. We have had an English garden spider in our yard and it is anything but normal looking!
