First Hyacinth bloom of 2018

    I look forward to my Hyacinth blooms every year! I think they're the most beautiful flower, second only to the water Lily :)

    The first time I saw a WH bloom I was totally in awe! I had no idea what one even looked like, and they ARE beautiful!

    I know that they are banned in Louisiana. But there is a local nursery that carries them every year. Go figure!

    They are banned in Wisconsin, too - go figure. No water hyacinth is going to survive our winters in the wild.

    Thank you for sharing those lovely blooms @Gemma ! We have a few floating in our ponds but we probably won't get to see any blooms due to the partial shade. Years ago, at our previous home, we had a pond in full sun where the plants exploded like fireworks! I miss those, but at least I can enjoy yours.

    Yes. I have been able to get them in the past from Craigslist but not this year.
