Hi. I’d like to share a few pics of my little goldfish pond I started working on about a year ago. I had a small corner of my backyard that I’d chosen to use for the project. I decided to use a Rubbermaid stock tank that holds about 350 gallons. I have about 15 goldfish and 8 minnows.

Thanks. They have spawned already and I did get one survivor. I will keep that in mind for the next time.

This is a beautiful little pond that you have built! Goldfish multiply quickly and you are starting out with a lot (in my opinion) so you might have to take measures to periodically cull the herd As GBBUDD said, if you see spawning behavior cut down on the chow

Thanks. When I first stocked my pond with the tiny feeder gold fish from the local pet store I excepted to lose a few. They all survived but they were so tiny we could hardly see them and I didn’t have the patience to wait for them to get bigger. So, I added a few more feeders and also purchased a few bigger fancy ones. I will definitely consider removing a few and definitely stop feeding when they spawn again.

Everyone expects the feeder goldfish to not survive. I got a dozen tiny ones last year thinking 2-3 would survive. They all made it and I now have over 60 goldfish!
