Hi. I’d like to share a few pics of my little goldfish pond I started working on about a year ago. I had a small corner of my backyard that I’d chosen to use for the project. I decided to use a Rubbermaid stock tank that holds about 350 gallons. I have about 15 goldfish and 8 minnows.

This is a beautiful little pond that you have built! Goldfish multiply quickly and you are starting out with a lot (in my opinion) so you might have to take measures to periodically cull the herd:) As GBBUDD said, if you see spawning behavior cut down on the chow:)

Thanks. When I first stocked my pond with the tiny feeder gold fish from the local pet store I excepted to lose a few. They all survived but they were so tiny we could hardly see them and I didn’t have the patience to wait for them to get bigger. So, I added a few more feeders and also purchased a few bigger fancy ones. I will definitely consider removing a few and definitely stop feeding when they spawn again.

Everyone expects the feeder goldfish to not survive. I got a dozen tiny ones last year thinking 2-3 would survive. They all made it and I now have over 60 goldfish!
