Hi. I have a smallish pond with 2 levels and a small waterfall and brook between the 2. I have 5 fish in the smaller lower pond. I keep trying to move some of them to the bigger upper pond but they always end up back in the lower one. How to I keep them from being swept over the falls? I've given them places to hide( over turned clay pots).

Hello and welcome!

How big are your ponds? I’m not used to hearing of the upper pond being larger than the lower one.

You can try something like what @mrsclem suggested. Just be sure that water doesn’t back up.

Welcome! I've seen people use different types of screening to keep fish from going overboard, but as @Mmathis said you'll have to be vigilant to make sure it doesn't get clogged with debris and cause your pond to overflow.
