there is 475 gallons in this pond now but will go another 75 gallons, but after the platinum jumped i lowered the water level until i can put the caging around the walls to keep that from reoccuring this spring when they go back outside i will increase the depth of this pond to hold 800 gals. its just a wintering pond.,
my water parameters are ideal. they are tested weekly. my ammonia and nitrate reading is always 0. ph locked at 7.4. i always test on monday, and do my 10% water changes on tuesday.
I can see my lower pond while watching TV in my home. occasionally, I see my platinums jumping and clearing the water. It must be in their nature. When I transferred them from my upper pond, one jumped out of the container and landed on the grass. Fortunatley he was unharmed.
no doubt dave, i kid you not,i swear ive seen at least a couple of my fish, do the tail walk thing, like the dolphins at seaworld but they travel sideways. when my hornwort was over grown they would swim up ontop and sun bathe.
thanx much Bjorn, im jealous of your whole setup though. i dont know if my redo is even gonna be finished this year now. money is tight and getting tighter here.
a few more fish pix, cant get all 35 fish to sit still for pictures. this is just the basement pond anyways. i dont know why i cant seem to take a decent picture, i am using a sanyo 8 megapixel camera
well DrCase, your guess is as good as mine... we got 6" of snow yesterday, i'm watching it snow now, and its supposed to snow tomorrow too. weve had snow on Easter, so i am so cabin crazy right now, i cant stand it. if we could even hit the 50s, at least i could work on the remodeling of the pond.
