Fish rushing the waterfall like salmon

This is an odd thing I've noticed. Whenever we get a rainstorm, I noticed my fish, mostly the goldfish, rush the waterfall, almost coming out of the water. Could insects or other edible things be washing down or maybe more oxygenated water, thoughts? I tried to post video, but no matter what size I make it, it says it's too large, so here are some screen shots. Some of these guys/gals literally come out if the water.

Mine do the same thing! I think the water level raises just a bit with heavy rain and that exposes and loosens more crud, which my goldfish love!

I think you're right. Those rocks have lots of greenery on them that they otherwise cant reach with lower water levels. Thanks for the the reply.

As a kid, we would go fishing during or right after a rain. The fish go crazy for all of the bugs that suddenly appear and also food that washes downstream. Cool pictures, thanks for sharing!

Yup - they're finding all the good stuff that's getting washed down. Mine do the same when I spray off the waterfall rocks. Looking for tasty treats!
