Fish-safe, permanent paint?

It's that time of the year again, friends! The deer are eating the water lilies! I sort of feel like it's time to give up. I have some cool, floating, foam lily pads that look very realistic. I've hooked them together with the little plastic thingies they use to put tags on clothing. The shape and way they float makes them look quite real and they provide shelter and shade for the fish. HOWEVER - they are a strange, unnatural green.
The green is dark and there is some nice veining detail. But I would love to do a little sponge painting with a burgundy color to dull it down a little. Then, they would be almost perfect.
Does anyone know of a permanent paint that would accomplish this without harming the fish?
I wonder about Krylon? It bonds to plastic. I could spray some into a paper plate and then dab it on with a sponge.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

My self i'd put up a vertical net around the pond and secure it to your home as the opening that way you see straight through to the pond with no net. the deer will give up and go elsewhere

We can't because my husband parks his truck between the house and the pond. I think I'm better off just abandoning the idea of lilies. That seems to be the one thing they find irresistible.

I think a spattering of burgundy on the green would help it look much more natural!

Can the scarecrow sense motion at night? That is when the little poop heads come and eat. I need to investigate the scarecrow!

I know this is kind of old. I used the Krylon Fusion on some pvc pipes for inside the pond. How long did you let dry before submerging? I was thinking 24 hours, but then read where it said fully hardened in 7 day? I was hoping for feedback from someone who used it successfully in a shorter period of time. I order my koi and they show up tomorrow and right now I am at 8 hours dry time. So when they arrive it will be about 35 hours.

I would never paint pipe that was to be submerged for its life. You have black , Grey, white ,off white, as standard colors. id be willing to bet you can speacial order other colors.
Now all pvc that is exposed to air and in the sun should be painted. Andbin that case spray paint t will work as would any acrylic or oil.

Yah, well its a little late in my game for that. I researched before and saw many, many posts about using this spray paint. So I thought it was okay. I didn't see anything about cure time. I essentially made two loops around the bottom of my pond out of 2" PVC, one it intake and one is return. I was trying this because I don't have a bottom drain and it is very good for circulation. Draws in from 3 points and returns to 6 points including one that creates surface movement.
So it is complicated and a lot of 2" pipe.

I used the Krylon paint on 2" pvc pipe for 3 pumps in my pond. It's been a few years but pretty sure it was a 48 hour dry time that I used. No problem with fish health.
