Fix up old pond - Any idea's welcome!

Need idea's to making this pond look better if you have any idea's it would be appreciated!

My dad built this pond in 1999 it has just sat there for about 6 years so its a bit stingy looking, so im looking to refurbish it a bit to make it look better.

Obviously a concrete pond. The application of a good quality pond coating would greatly improve the aesthetics. Then you can add water.

Yeah it does hold water hahaha, but cant fill it until i put mesh around it otherwise the dog will swim in it
