Well I found my old screen name so we can do away with Felipe. My selections here are limited for construction but we went to a greenhouse that had a small pond with of all things an Alligator Gar as the only fish. They painted it with a sealant used for concrete roofs but I found Flex Seal which is simply a spray on rubber and that seems like my best shot. Any input?

Well glad you found your password! I don't know anything about the sealant but hopefully someone else will. I did find this video of a guy who says it works and one that says no:

and this guy did a review and towards the end about minute 6:50 he did a test on particle board:

and this guy says no:

I saw other video's that said no also. Sounds kinda risky to me!

Thank you J.W., I think I'll stay with the roof sealant specifically made for concrete.

We have a roof sealant at our Home Depot that I will use as we saw it working at a local greenhouse. I'm going to try to get them to add a little blue color in the paint department.

Which brand are you going with? I'm working on fixing up a pond, and am looking at various options.

might have to check the contents of the roof sealant as chemicals may be harmless to critters .Welcome back bull frog and hope all is well with you .I did try it dyed on my birdbath and it pealed off after only a month and I did it in the fall and left it cure in the basement until April .It just started bubbling up all over inside the birdbath

I am not sure of the brand name but we saw it working at a greenhouse, it should be just polyurethane.

J.W., how do we post pictures here now? Do we still use Photobucket and insert the img tag?

Nope photo bucket costs money now and I don't think anybody used that here anymore. I save my pictures to my computer and then see the attach files box at the bottom when you are posting a post? I click on that and choose what photo I want to add to the post and it shows up below and then I click Full image and it adds it to my post. Then click Post reply.
