Formal pond skimmer question

I am not building a formal pond, but I am always trying to learn as much as I can. Recently I have been wondering how you would install a skimmer on a formal pond. Say it's rectangular and tiled, with a natural pond it's easy to install a skimmer, but what type of skimmer would you install to have a nice clean formal look?

I hope that makes sense...

Thanks,

Kyle

Most I have seen are free standing type surface skimmers, Most formal ponds take in the Bulk of water from the Bottom drains so no need to skim the water as strongly. I have also seen dual skimmers set up in opposite corners of formal ponds and use smaller skimmers so that they can be built into the walls more easily.

Could do it the same and cover it with a matching top stone and recess it if you want to hide the inlet.

A swimming pool skimmer works well, put it in the wall and with a long throat you can have the body away from it.
