Has anyone come across a frog holding on to a dead goldfish before. I came across this today & not sure if the frog killed the fish or held onto if it was at the bottom If the pond after winter.
Anyone any advice of what I should do if anything other than remove the dead fish?
Thanks steve

During mating season male frogs will latch onto anything including fish, which could result in the death of the fish. Personally, I wouldn’t worry about it, part of nature. Doesnt happen very often at least not in my ponds.

I would guess the fish was alive - frogs don't eat things that are already dead. It may have been an intentional snack, made more accessible by a fish that was moving slower, or as @Jhn suggested a mating behavior. Nature rules.

I relocated a bull frog last summer ( to a larger nearby natural pond ) as it was killing birds ! I just couldn't handle it and it kept happening. I prepare a natural environment to draw birds and I felt like they were just " sitting ducks" for this guy.
