I don't know. It was good quality stuff and they had it professionally installed. The yard is small and both of them have joint and pain issues. It was a great solution for their particular needs! I think they have had it about 4 years and I think it still looks good!Looks real. If it is for real, it would beat cutting, watering and fertilizing! Wow. How long does it last? What about fading?
I wonder if moles would tunnel under it and make it sink in places. We have a lot of moles here and when they dig the earth sinks where the holes are at. Hope it wouldn't make it all lumpy or uneven eventually.I don't know. It was good quality stuff and they had it professionally installed. We had a mole that just gave us fits. It hung out in a wooded area and 'visited' our yard. Last February, a feral cat showed up and bearing a mole as a gift! We adopted the cat and have not had any moles since. What a deal!I wonder if moles would tunnel under it and make it sink in places. As to moles they use granite chips. Similar to stone dust but has pointed small pieces of granite and dust. Not exactly easy on claws even if they do burrow. If you have moles then I'd plan on extra measures like a thicker chip base. Then one you get it all even and pin the carpet down with spikes you use a special sand I forget what it's called with a drop spreader and add the sand into the shag of the turf to help hold it down and look realWe had a mole that just gave us fits. When calculating 7 or 15 years, the cost of a mower, trimmer, leaf blower & fuel or electricity for them, some sort of installation system or sprinklers and the cost of fertilizer (the runoff is certainly undesirable) it just might just make sense. This is very interesting. @bagsmom gets an 'A' for starting a fascinating thread! From what I found 5 year 7 year and 15 year warranties of artificial turf.
I will ask them about the brand. I know they ended up getting it because the yard is so small. It's really just a couple of little rectangles and they didn't have the extra room to store a mower. That looks very much like the stuff I saw . Incredibly realistic. Thanks for posting. Beautiful picture though I'd go with a nice blue gray over pink siding.
Based on artificial turf lawns around here (Florida) that look good and mole-free, I think since moles eat grubs that like the grass roots, since the A turf doesn't have roots, there wouldn't as many grubs and so, no moles.I wonder if moles would tunnel under it and make it sink in places.
