Looks real. If it is for real, it would beat cutting, watering and fertilizing! Wow. How long does it last? What about fading?

I don't know. It was good quality stuff and they had it professionally installed. The yard is small and both of them have joint and pain issues. It was a great solution for their particular needs! I think they have had it about 4 years and I think it still looks good!

I wonder if moles would tunnel under it and make it sink in places. We have a lot of moles here and when they dig the earth sinks where the holes are at. Hope it wouldn't make it all lumpy or uneven eventually.

We had a mole that just gave us fits. It hung out in a wooded area and 'visited' our yard. Last February, a feral cat showed up and bearing a mole as a gift! We adopted the cat and have not had any moles since. What a deal!

As to moles they use granite chips. Similar to stone dust but has pointed small pieces of granite and dust. Not exactly easy on claws even if they do burrow. If you have moles then I'd plan on extra measures like a thicker chip base. Then one you get it all even and pin the carpet down with spikes you use a special sand I forget what it's called with a drop spreader and add the sand into the shag of the turf to help hold it down and look real

When calculating 7 or 15 years, the cost of a mower, trimmer, leaf blower & fuel or electricity for them, some sort of installation system or sprinklers and the cost of fertilizer (the runoff is certainly undesirable) it just might just make sense. This is very interesting. @bagsmom gets an 'A' for starting a fascinating thread!

Lol our grass is on its own, drought, turn brown, moles yep around, weeds , yep.

No sprinklers, no fertilizer, no trimmers, no leaf blowing (chop up with the mower).

So for me just mowing. Every week, or less, back field once a month.

Put in acres of artifical, the deer, rabbits, etc would be MAD!

We are rural which helps, no neighbor complaints!

But it does look nice!

Can you ask them if they know who the manufacturer is.
I'm striking out on finding a supplier of the brand I have seen and not the crap I showed in a picture

That looks very much like the stuff I saw . Incredibly realistic. Thanks for posting. Beautiful picture though I'd go with a nice blue gray over pink siding.

I will ask them about the brand. I know they ended up getting it because the yard is so small. It's really just a couple of little rectangles and they didn't have the extra room to store a mower.
They are moving. I am guessing the new people will repaint. But the peachy pink and sage are actually a historically accurate choice for a Queen Anne Victorian. (It's very girlie, though!) The house has so many fun details, it will be beautiful in any color! We are lucky to live in a neighborhood with such fantastic old homes. The street is an architectural timeline. There is an older street running perpendicular, with big places ranging between 1830s and 1900. Then our street comes off of there with 1880s, 19-teens, 20s, then down a couple of blocks there are little cottages from the 30s and 40s. Continue on and it goes into the 50s and 60s. I love it!!!!!

Based on artificial turf lawns around here (Florida) that look good and mole-free, I think since moles eat grubs that like the grass roots, since the A turf doesn't have roots, there wouldn't as many grubs and so, no moles.
