Any one here run a Alphaone filter? What beneficial bacteria do you use?

Have never heard of it, and most of us on the GPF don’t use beneficial bacteria — we let Mother Nature take care of that for us.

Shipping beneficial bacteria is a fairy tale. There is only one company who ships bacteria for real, and they do it refrigerated and over night to many of the big aquariums and aqua parks in the us. Microbelift adds hydrogen sulfide to its product so that it seems real. Your best source of beneficial bacteria is to take filter muck from a friends filter and put it in yours. Sorry to be such a curmudgeon on this subject but That Info comes from hard research and interviews.

Not curmudgeonly at all! I think once you really think about the bacteria in a bottle, you realize how unlikely it is that anything living is surviving on the shelf for weeks, months, or even years.
