Well two turtles didn't last to long. Seems she gave it up on day two. And one of the turttles has moved on.
She has definately settled in as she devours the food I put out and on the days when I don't feed , she comes over toward me as if to say remember me fill my spot with food Mr.

and I swear she has already grown 1/3 of the size she was a couple weeks ago.

Some people get ALLLLLLL THE LUCK! We've twice had a painted turtle show up in the pond and both times they said "thanks but we're just passing through!" We used to have snappers wander through the yard pre-pond, pre-fence... they are interesting creatures. Practically prehistoric looking! But we were always happy to see them go - they aren't much fun!

Shhhhhh I feed her nothing but the best she thinks she's at the ritz Carlton.
Krill, Meal worms, crickets and turtlepellets. Why would anyone move on .
Though the Koi don't give her much space.. she climbs up on her floating log. Grabs some food then dives in and if there's even a hint of food sticking out the koi take it away. I know I'm going to come home one day and find one of the koi with a bite somewhere from the turtle . .....

You want to see a sight you should see a pair of snapping turtles when they mate. Lets just say someone saw this a long time ago and that's where bondage came from.

We watched a pair of snappers mating once in one of the big ponds in our neighborhood. A couple of 8 year old boys rode up on their bikes and one suggested to the other "let's go grab 'em while they're fighting!" I said "Boys - first of all, that's not fighting and secondly, don't bother those two if you value your limbs!"

That's an encouraging sign... the turtle didn't snap at that fish that swam right by it.
The fish are brutal they know there's food up on the log. And they swarm the poor turtle as it's climbing up on the log. At least three or four of the koi try to get the food and swim up out of the water unto the log it's crazy to watch. I'll have to get a good video. Sorry for the poor quality the phone is not taking as nice pictures as it use to

When we had koi some of them were incredibly aggressive about food. They would throw themselves up on rocks, in plants... anywhere they sniffed out a nugget or morsel. Others were much more laid back. Just like people, you could say!

I recently received THE compliment of compliments, one that I never dreamt I would receive.
I, like so many, have all watched the videos and dreamt that maybe some day we might have a work of art such as they have built time and time again.

The praise I received was very humbling to say the least. Greg Wittstock, The Pond Guy, saw a video of my pond and has stated he would like to Vlog my pond.

Now whether or not this actually happens remains to be seen, as I still can't believe my pond was considered worthy of being added to an Aquascape Vlog. Other than certified Aquascape contractors I don't believe I have ever seen any ponds that were built by a home owner that was showcased by Greg. That is unless it was built by a 14 year old, who with a shovel dug a pond in the back yard of their parents house, just as Greg did when he was that age.

That's fantastic! Keep us posted on whether (and when!) this happens. Personally, I think your pond is absolutely "vloggable" by Aquascape. It's every bit as beautiful and well-built as the ones done by some of the top Aquascape contractors.

Well done!

@GBBUDD , your pond is fantastic, and it's nice that it is getting recognition beyond us GFP'ers. I may as well make you blush more, to express my thanks for all the helpful suggestions and encouragement you add to this forum, many of which have helped me in my pond quest.

My pond is 18 years old and I know of one hole in the liner. I keep thinking that when I need to replace the liner I will pay for you to come to Ohio and redo my pond!
