Still trying to decide the best way to go . Keep my current pond which is a goldfish pond . Add a second pond for koi or expand my current pond to house koi and goldfish. I would be interested to hear from members who keep both . Are you happy with both fish together or would you prefer to have one or the other?
Are there reasons not to keep koi and goldfish together.?

I personally love goldfish and I'd probably never buy koi even if I had the room for them, but it really comes down to what you want. I'm sure other members who have both may be helpful in weighing the positives and negatives of both.

Goldfish and shubbies breed like you would not believe .I like koi or fat fantails .I had a combo so koi would eat the eggs

fat fantails they wiggle their butts to swim and if raised right they will swim into your hand like mine do to get belly rubs .They are slow and just funny to watch ,If I could have only one kind of fish it would be them .They seem to never breed .

Butt wigglers are also suited for ponds down to less than 300 gallons .The yellow ones are all hybrids of the shubbies I had and guessing the koi and they all have long flowing tails .I had 10 of them and now gave away most of them and only have 4 of them left .They were yellow with a pink dot on the back side of the head
