In the San Diego area, private sellers are about $30.00 for that size. I have an Orengi Ogon that is about 7" right now for $30.00. The rub is I don't ship, and I don't get home until mid afternoon.

I'm with DrCase, Champion Koi has very nice low cost koi. I'll be going there when I go to the Camellia Koi Club Sept 12 - 13, 2009.
Here is one I bought there a couple of years ago but It was not cheap.

If you have a koi show near you that would be a good place to purchase nice young koi in the $30 range.

She was a little skinny there. I just wish the spot was a little larger.

As long as there is no nets in the pond. I caught her last year and took her to a show and she turned pinkish yellow from stress. The judge gave her the judges award.

The white on that koi is what realy stands out...
