Just a quick hello. I am in northern Indiana. I have a small garden pond at my house. It is one of the plastic preforms now but I am in the process of expanding it with a plastic liner. So Hello and have a great day.

this a video with a general description of how its made and works:

this is a thread showing the construction of mine:

if you cant build a waterfall weir on your stock tank as i did, or if you decide to go with a 55 gallon drum..instead of the closet flange thats originally used use a shower drain as i did on my 55 gallon drum bio filter, it allows it to be mounted higher and in turn the filter has more volume. or look at the other 55 gal designs stickied at the beginning of the DIY forum

I have a link in my signature line that has a page on the Doc Bio Filter, it is similar to the skippy, but without the sponge like media.
When you evacuate/flush the Doc Filter, all the water leaves it during the flush. With the skippy, the scrubbies retain water and don't get a rinse.
They both work great. I think DrCase uses both.
