I got 2 pleco's for my pond today!!!! The little guys, about 2 inches, should be about 18 inches by the end of summer!!!! Hopefully they will help with my string algea problem.

That's great....Do you plan to bring them indoors for the winter? I have thought about getting them but not sure about over-wintering them indoors.

they over winter nicely indoors mine over winter in the basement pond..
I was thinking about a water trough heater for the winter. Think that will be enough?

noway they will have to come inside!!! they grow so fast its unreal.. i got mine at about 1" right around mothers day last year.. come sept when they went in the basement pond they were almost 10" no alge in basement pond and a steady 62* they didnt grow anything noticable.
