Today this guy was on the Pickerel Rush at the pond. Rainy this morning but this was just as the sun was starting to come out.

Thanks Mitch, I was about a 1ft away with a 100mm macro lens

Tripod too, I expect. Nice of the grasshopper to stay put.

Hey, that's a nice pix! But, it is not a grasshopper. You caught something even more interesting (to me) than a mere grasshopper. That is a katydid (I believe it is a female Scudderia furcata).
