Green Scale?

Did this suddenly appear on a fish you have had for some time?
Are there any other symptoms?

I've had this fish for about a month now. I feel like it's getting worse, but none of the other fish are affected.

Was this spot on the fish when you got it?

Also have you caught the fish and looked at it? cause some fish can have algae spores grow on or in them....

We can't help you if you don't provide answers. That said, when in doubt, you should isolate it until it is determined to be a real problem or not.

I don't know if the spot was there when I bought him, if it was, it wasn't clearly visible. Also, how would I know whether it's algae or not?

I wouldnt really worry yourself any , this scale is getting ready to drop off and a new one form underneath.
At some stage or other your fish has damagedthis area .
The green you see is no more no less than harmless algae spores that have explointed this ding to your fishes armour .
It happens more times than you think and many get missed
