I ordered 2 different ground covers that I'm hoping will fill in around my bordering pond rocks. They are
Mentha requienii, Corsican Mint. This is a very small leaf plant...Obviously a strong mint smell.
Red Creeping Thyme/Creeping Thyme. Worried about this one expanding too much.

Does anyone see any red flags for having these next to my pond and maybe even dropping down into the water?

I looked up the mint, sounds like a neat plant. I have creeping thyme, it has not taken over, been planted for years now.

Creeping thyme will creep, but it doesn't put down many roots if that makes sense. It forms more of a mat that radiates out from the main plant. We have a number of varieties and they are all easy to manage. If it's growing where I don't want it, I just clip it back.

I planted creeping thyme in the walkway to my front door. It can take light foot traffic. smells great when walked on. Only company uses front door so works out prefect.
