Has anyone ever kept there pond plant's alive through the winter inside under grow lights on a timer?

I'm planning on putting a 300 gallon stock tank in my basement for my goldfish and my water pond plants, iris, bonsai are doing well and I don't want to lose them.

I've tried keeping pond plants over the winter and have found that they're a favourite food of various pests - aphids, whiteflies, etc.
I think it's best to keep plants that are native to your area and let nature balance out what survives and doesn't survive.

I guess there not too expensive, for the cost of a growing light I can get a good bunch of new plants in the spring. Thanks for the response
