Growing Lotus from seed

I would like to grow some lotus from seed but to date I have failed. I can get the seeds to sprout but they perish when planted. Is there a comprehensive article anywhere of someone who has done this.

Hi Alan,
If you start seed in a jar, you may have to wait till the 2nd grow or leave come up about a few inch before you can transplant into a pot.

Having very similar problem. Previously the things survived for months but eventually died. Trying a few more right now. Others think that I put too much organic material in the soil in which I transplanted them

Thanks, seems reasonable. Similar to requirement for other plants to not fertilize until the true leaves appear.
