My RES turtle named Heckle has gotten his new "wife" pregnant so she should be moving into a breeder tank in the morning to get her ready for laying her clutch. If my memory is correct this will be Heckles 7th "wife" and family and he has already "gifted the world" with about 15 little Heckles so this could very well bring his family to 20 or more members :D I will definitely share images of the hatchlings and the clutch of eggs when they come but in the mean time Heckle said to share his image for now since he is a proud father... again! :p

Mr. Heckle ;)

How long does it take RES's eggs to hatch?
About 45 days usually in my setup (incubator chamber etc) but they can take as long as 65 or 70 days in some conditions

How exciting, I look forward to updates.

Out of curiosity, Do you keep all the babies?
I usually keep one hatchling and adopt the rest to good homes once they are old enough (4" carapace)
