From all I can find out, this guy is a Cope's Gray Tree Frog [can only tell the difference between it and the Gray Tree Frog by its voice]. And they've been doing lots of calling this past week with all of our rain. This morning I found EGGS in the turtle-side of the pond :claphands: . Any idea if they are frog or toad eggs from this pic? This is the only critter we've seen or heard, so only assuming they might be his relatives. Sorry, but before I realized they were there, I was going through & slinging water lettuce plants when I noticed something icky on my hand, so wasn't able to see what the mass looked like prior to my meddling.

Our toads do two eggs side by side in a string, our frogs dump in a jelly mess clump

What is left does look string like, one egg at a time.

ADDY, yes it does look stringy. Sure wish I'd noticed the eggs before I started snatching the plants.... But it will be fun to see what we get [gotta go check my filter to be sure it's egg & taddie-safe].

They've hatched! We have taddies! At least for now -- the eggs are in the turtle part of the pond, somewhat secluded, but saw a very happy goldfish in there....

Yep those are toad eggs. We had 6 batches of toad eggs in our pond this year. We have another one out there now looking for LOVE. He must have just gotten out of the clink and is a little hard up. I thought toads only mated in the spring in our area?
