Hello today has been really bad for me..crying all day for this poor pup..we have only gotten the tick panel back for Lyme disease and that was negative but still waiting on the results for all the others... I was told today that we are out of options because she is left baffled..she said I could go to a specialist and they would do blood test again along with x-rays but my funds are pretty low :( I have already spent 400.00(my grandmother sent me 100.00) trying my best to do everything to save him but I honestly might have to let him go. We have put him back on the pain meds for 24 hours to see if he starts to crawl/walk again because we do not understand why he went from getting better and walking to back to square one.If he does start to crawl/walk again with pain meds I guess she wants to keep him on them and see how that goes??? I am out of options and it breaks my heart..I just wanted to save him :( I am hoping the tick panel shows something that can be treated as she said the antibiotics he was on was supposed to treat MANY of the tick diseases..For those who pray please pray for Reese..he needs all he can get tonight. Thanks Amber

That was a very good story T-mann, I rescued an english bulldog puppy about 7 years ago that was a swimmer pup, many hours of bath tub swimming and she made it :) She was 6 weeks when I took her in and today she is a very healthy fat bulldog....thanks for sharing that with me today..I needed some good news.

Sorry to hear you were so sad today Amber. Both you and Reese will continue to be in my prayers. Did you ever get any info from the people who had him about perhaps what could have happened? Maybe they had other pups w/ the same problem? Sure hope we get some better news about him cuz would be so hard to lose the little guy after you put so much effort into trying to save him. Whatever happens tho you can know that you did your best. Sometimes things don't go the way we think they should but there is a reason and a plan that we just don't know what that reason is at this time.

Thank you all for your prayers,he is still in pain as I just tried taking him outside and he just whined in pain..my 8 year old daughter is very upset as well and we just had the talk about why things happen and why God can't save them all..I don't have that answer but I know he put Reese in our path for a reason,no matter the outcome he was very much loved by my grandmother,my family and my friends family..this dog knows what love it for sure. Praying for a miracle over the next 24 hours, thanks again for listening to me and being here.

Good news...I was woke up at 2am this morning with Reese trying to crawl to the living room, then I got up and called the vet to let her know and she got the tick results back, positive for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and we were treating him for it but the dose was way low..praise GOD!!! Will keep everyone updated as I am off to get more meds..Thanks Amber

Glad to hear they were able to diagnose his condition. Did the vet say what the chances are of 100% recovery?

She hasn't really said but the meds are for 7-10 days..the dose was 1/2 tablet every 24 hours originally but now we are doing 1/4 tablet 3 times a day and with him able to walk a few days into all this mess I think Reese will recover really well..so relieved we now know what we are dealing with,no knowing can be the hardest in my opinion..I am thanking God big time :)
