I've have had a koi pond for about 10 years now, but haven't done much for the last 3 years.
All my koi's are gone now, due to a Herein. I plan on redoing my pond, I have some water plants
& about 5 bull frogs. It's been overrun with cattails, which I am in the process of removing while
redoing the pond. I will post my progress as I find time to work on it.

welcome and you have a big job ahead of you because when cattails are neglected they are hard to get out and boy does it stink when you take them out .

welcomeaboad and good luck on the cattail removal. I had a overrun of Pickeral rush a few year back and boy that was a mess. Took five people to get that clump out of the pond and yes, it stunk horribly. The good thing was, I found babies in the roots and the pond did so much better once they giant rootballs were removed.

That is the reason I keep plants in pots! Get tired of them yank the pot, which can be darn heavy
