Hello all,

We are from Ohio and I've been a pond builder for 20 years with the construction on my 21 and last pond.. My second to the last pond was 70 x 90 x 6 feet deep. When I moved to this house I build a 11.5 x 9 pond giving most of my fish away since I didn't have the room for them. Since I'm almost 57 and having to dig the new pond by hand- no room for large equipemnt a septic tank and leach field I decided on a 21 x 30 pond. This one is being designed with very little maintainance in mind so we can sit under the gazibbo and just watch. I've been digging for 4 weekends now down to 5 feet and I'm almost ready to drain the original and fimish digging the rest. Can't wait to finish the digging. Ponds are the greatest intertainment to accept for the bad winter. I'll post some pictures soon of the progress and finished pond.
A little bit about me. I'm an outdoor G scale railroader, camper and old time, bluegrass musician and a stringed musical instrument builder. I was a model maker, inventor and designer for Moen Inc until I lost my job 3 years ago. Now I'm part of Quality control for a large local foundry.

Thanks for letting me come onboard,

Doug

Doug welcome to the forum. I am looking forward to seeing the progress of your build. Are you going to integrate your railroad into your design? You can start build thread and post as you go or you can start a showcase thread where only you can post.

I took pics today, I'll post ASAP. I spent a few hours getting my Bio filter finished today but the heat took me out so now I'm watching the tube until bed about 8 so I can get up and start digging at 6 tomorrow
